Around 50,000 riders took to the streets of London at the inaugural Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle on Saturday 3 August 2013 to enjoy a celebration of cycling. The 2014 event will offer a unique opportunity to experience the fun and freedom of cycling through London on an eight-mile traffic-free route that features many of the capital’s world-famous landmarks, from Buckingham Palace in the west to the Tower of London in the east via the Houses of Parliament and St Paul’s. London’s greatest sights will create an inspiring backdrop for a memorable day of cycling.
Building on the legacy of London 2012, Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle will encourage people of all ages to stay inspired by the Games and entice more people to go cycling more often. Aimed at cyclists of all ages and abilities, Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle is guaranteed to be a lively day out. The event will demonstrate that cycling can be fun and a great route to a healthy, active lifestyle as well as helping the environment.
