Rider Registration

Rider Registration

Rider registration documents at the Prudential RideLondon Cycling Show

In July we emailed you asking you to complete the 2019 charity survey. Once you completed this survey you were sent a confirmation email that included your rider number and QR code, together with a link to these instructions. (Please note that this replaces the Registration Form that has been issued in previous years.)

The QR code holds your name, rider number and email address. You will need your QR code to collect your Rider Pack when you register at the Prudential RideLondon Cycling Show at ExCeL in east London, so please bring the QR code on your phone so it can be scanned (or bring a printout if you do not have a smart phone).

You must also bring photographic identification, such as a passport or driving licence, with you to collect your Rider Pack.

Your Rider Pack

Your Rider Pack includes:

  • Your rider card with all your Start time information
  • A body number with safety pins to attach it to the back of your jersey
  • A frame number sticker
  • A handlebar number with cable ties to attach it to your handle bars
  • A helmet number sticker
  • A kitbag
  • A kitbag sticker displaying your rider number

Take care of your Rider Pack and fill in the medical information on the reverse side of the body number. Replacement documents cannot be issued under any circumstances.

Collection by proxy

While preferring you to register in person, we recognise that in some cases this may be impossible, so you can nominate someone to collect your Rider Pack for you.

The person you nominate must have a letter, written and signed by you, authorising that person – by name – to collect your Rider Pack. You must also provide them with a clear photocopy of your passport or driving licence showing your name and your signature, and a copy of the QR code that was sent to you.

The person collecting your Rider Pack should also have their own suitable photo identification with them. Failure to comply with these instructions may lead to your Rider Pack not being issued. Please note: an individual can only collect one other person’s Rider Pack in addition to their own.

Where to register

You must register and collect your Rider Pack before Ride Day.

Registration is at the Prudential RideLondon Cycling Show, which will take place at ExCeL in east London. The address is: ExCeL 1 Western Gateway Royal Victoria Dock London E16 1XL.

You can register at the following times:

  • 10:00 – 20:00 on Thursday 1 August
  • 10:00 – 20:00 on Friday 2 August
  • 08:30 – 17:00 on Saturday 3 August

If you live or work in or near London, please aim to register on Thursday or Friday. The Saturday of the Cycling Show is very busy. You may have a considerable wait to register on Saturday, so if you are able to register earlier in the week, please do.

If you do need to register on Saturday, please ensure you allow enough time to get to Registration before 17:00. Registration will close promptly at 17:00. No Rider Packs will be issued after 17:00 and if you do not have your pack you will not be able to take part in the sportive.

How to get to ExCeL

You can cycle to ExCeL from central London in around 45 minutes. There are bicycle storage facilities at the Prudential RideLondon Cycling Show.

ExCeL is approximately 20 minutes away from central London via the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Visitors should travel to Custom House station.

There is then a two-minute walk along a covered walkway to the entrance of ExCeL and the Prudential RideLondon Cycling Show can be found inside via Door N2.

We strongly advise that you use a contactless bank card, an Oyster card or purchase a return ticket as ticket-purchasing facilities are limited at ExCeL. All valid London Underground tickets are accepted on the DLR.

If you live in or around London, please try to register on Thursday or Friday, as it will be extremely busy on Saturday with cyclists coming from further afield.

After registering, take some time to look around the Prudential RideLondon Cycling Show; there is lots to do and see as well as plenty of opportunities to check out the latest cycling products.

What should I do if I'm ill or injured?

You must be fit and well to cycle in a sportive. Severe exertion during or soon after any kind of fever is extremely dangerous. Read our medical advice for more details on health and distance cycling.

Do not take any chances with your health: if you find yourself in this situation you must withdraw – even if this is the first time you have gained a Prudential RideLondon place after years of trying.
