Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19

Congratulations to all riders who took part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19! We hope you had an enjoyable Ride Day.

The 2020 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19 will take place on Sunday 16 August. Entries will open in 2020.

About the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19

Starting at Sandown Park in Surrey, the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19 takes in the final 19 miles of the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 route, going through south west London, and into the heart of the capital to the spectacular finish on The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19 is the perfect opportunity for newer and younger cyclists to take part in their first mass-participation cycling event, and for families and friends to ride 19 traffic-free miles together. The event is open to riders aged 12 upwards (those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).

Finishers will receive a special souvenir medal and free entry into the Festival Zone in Green Park.

Entry costs £29 for adults and is free for participants aged from 12-15.

Please note: participants aged from 12-15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is age 18 years or over. We recommend that any young riders new to cycling attend a cycling proficiency course such as Bikeability . Joining a British Cycling club can also be a great way of gaining additional confidence for riding in large groups and understanding how to effectively communicate on the bike.

Community Entries

Special community entries, priced at £10 per rider, are also available to selected community groups in London and Surrey. Please visit our entries page for more information on how to apply.

Getting to the Start

There are a number of simple ways to get to the Start of the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19 at Sandown Park racecourse in Esher:

  • By bike: You can cycle to the event and access the Start Area via More Lane, but please note a number of roads in the area will be closed to facilitate Prudential RideLondon. Visit our road closures page to plan your journey.
  • By train: Sandown Park is 1.2 miles and a 10-minute cycle from Esher station, which is a 28-minute journey from Waterloo and 12 minutes from Wimbledon. South Western Railway will be providing additional services to Esher but normal restrictions apply to the carriage of bicycles on public transport in London. Please plan your journey in advance by visiting nationalrail.co.uk
  • By car: We recommend cycling or using public transport to get to the Start, but if you do decide to drive, please allow extra time for your journey due to the extensive road closures in place. Please use the A3, exiting at Cobham (Painshill)
Junction. Follow the signs for the A245 towards Cobham before taking a left to A307 Portsmouth Road. Follow the A307 all the way to Esher where vehicles will be directed to More Lane (where the entrance to the site is located). Please remember that if you do drive to Sandown Park, you will have to return there from The Mall after you have completed the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19 to collect your vehicle.
