Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle
Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle offers a brilliant opportunity to get the whole family together to experience the fun and freedom of cycling on traffic-free roads in central London.
The event showcases the capital as part of a festival of cycling led by the Mayor of London’s office.
The route is open from 09:00-16:00 and takes in the Strand and Lincoln’s Inn Fields and returns to the Victoria Embankment, taking in a section of the newly opened East-West Cycle Superhighway (CS3).
The circuit passes iconic London landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Bank of England, with stunning views of London to be found everywhere you look.
The 2019 edition of FreeCycle will take place on Saturday 3 August. Registration is now open – it's free to sign up, or you can come along on the day and join the fun!
We want as many people as possible – of all ages and abilities – to enjoy Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle so we’ve put together a series of Led Rides with the London Cycling Campaign to deliver you to the heart of the action in central London.
Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle plays host to six official Festival Zones across iconic sites of central London including Green Park, Aldwych, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, St Paul’s, and our brand new sites at Temple Place and Bloomberg.
A wide range of bike-based entertainment and activities will take place at each site during the day.
There will be music and entertainment all along the route with bands, music bikes, stilt bicycles, Penny Farthings, stagecoaches and rickshaws, with bike doctors on hand in case of any technical problems. Each Festival Zone will have cycle parking where participants can leave their bikes while they enjoy the free entertainment on offer.
Additional elements as standard at each site include hydration stations, event medical posts, toilets and information points.
Please visit our dedicated Festival Zones page for more information on the entertainment on offer during FreeCycle.
