You will be the face of the event, welcoming thousands of people to the world’s largest festival of cycling. You will be helping the riders explore the streets of London in a safe & friendly environment and can undertake a variety of roles including providing location information for riders and the public, directing cyclists on the route and wayfinding so that riders & spectators can explore and discover everything on offer. This is a great role right in the heart of the city and is sure to fill up fast.
Sunday 30 July – Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, 46 & Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic
Drink Station Team
You will be based at a drinks station on the route, distributing water to the riders as they complete their challenge. This is a great role as you will be part of a large team and making a real difference to the event experience of the cyclists taking part.
As a Hub volunteer you will be handing out drinks, snacks and energy gels to the riders as they take a short break and re-fuel before heading back out onto the route. This is a great role as you will be making a real difference to the experience of the riders, and because you have food and drinks, the riders will be very happy to see you!
Pedestrian Crossing Point Team
Based on the route for the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 and Classic events, you will help manage the integrity of the route and support the public by enabling them to cross the course safely at designated points. In this role you will need to be confident and enjoy speaking with members of the public.
Spectator Guide Distribution Team
Our spectator guides are jam packed with information about the event and you will be giving out the guides to members of the public to ensure they get the most out of the event. You will also be on hand to direct spectators in the local area and will need to be friendly, enthusiastic and enjoy speaking with members of the public. Local knowledge of the area where you will be based is highly desirable.
Start Departure Team
As a Start Team departure volunteer you will be at the start of the action in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Your role will be to help ensure the safe departure of the riders as 25,000+ people head out into London to begin their 100-mile challenge. This is a great role in an iconic location and is one of the most sought after places to be in the event. To do this role you will need to be fully committed, well organised and not afraid of an early start!
Steward Buddy Team
If you have local knowledge, we want you! We are looking for people who have good local knowledge that can be shared with drivers and pedestrians to improve their event day experience. You will be buddied up with one of our professional stewards and you will be on hand to be a friendly face who can advise drivers and the public as to alternative routes they can take when they are met with road closures.
Yellow Flag Team
If you like being at the centre of the action then this is the role for you. You will be working exclusively on the professional race and will be stood in the road, physically indicating hazards and fixed obstacles to the riders using a yellow flag. This role requires a high degree of responsibility so you will need to be reliable, confident and enjoy working in the middle of the action.
